Rules of Shotgun

The rules of Shotgun!--though hotly debated throughout the centuries--are simple and finite.
 
1. The winner of Shotgun! will be the first to call out, upon approach and within view of vehicle, "Shotgun!"
 
2. All possible contestants must be out of buildings and clearance of overhangs, including the driver who is the final authority of Shotgun!
 
3. Any debates or ties will be settled with arm wrestling on the hood of the car.
